Dr. Al Shabikh: Participation is a bona fide concept of all muslims

At center No, 51 at the secretariat general of Gardens and Beautification, Rafeea district we met Dr. Abdullah Mohamed Al Shabikh, chairman of the supervisory committee:
"As you see attendance is at the maximum. Those who were late in this district are now trying to catch up for enrolment. We thank Allah for the easiness of the process of enrolment. The techniques and equipment saved a lot of time and effort. The committee members help finish enrolment starting with secretariat and up to the end of computer. We all work in coordination and we faced no difficulties since the first day and up to now."

Regarding his impressions on the elections process he said:" It is with the grace of Allah that all center chairmen are university professors a matter that helped explanation of the concept of the process among the young men, the bigger category in our community.
Contribution with your opinion is a bona fide concept in the muslim mentality (and they share-consider their matters). Elections process is but an example of shoura and the first experience received good acceptance among the community members whether employees, academy or citizens. You notice that when you discuss it with friends and relatives as all of them talk about it.
The Saudi people are simple and kind. May be this kindness will be interpreted into slow attendance and enrolment but this category is very few but you may realize it. I wish the media campaign was directed towards the simple people through sign boards on streets because some people do not realize this effort and do not understand the purpose and the benefits of the process. The citizens who approach the enrolment centers are well informed of the whole elections process and the tasks of the municipal councils."

Kuraidees bin Saad Al Kuraidees- a lawyer-:" We came today with hope of the elected council to be a branch that benefits and joins efforts with the government departments in looking after the welfare of the city and its citizens. I will elect the one I feel suitable because the election process is a desire of the citizen and is a perfect vision of our government."

Zaid Mohamed Saad Al Dousary: "The motive for enrolment is citizenship and desire to participate with my country fellows and then to elect the one who I feel suitable for the city. Our district is in need of some facilities such as population organization and maintenance of some streets. I appreciate this blessed step and for other steps to follow."

Fahad bi Abdul Aziz Al Julaihim, committee member: "My experience today with the elections process is one of the very important experiences for me because of its new and different culture and for its noble objective. I think the process is successful even if there are some defects such as the short comings of media and orientation of the simple citizen. The citizen who comes here is one of two kinds: either he is aware of the process or totally ignorant and he comes only for participation."

Chairman of Center No, 40: The Media Campaign was conducive

We met Dr. Mohamed Suleiman Al A'ayid, Chairman of center No, 40 at Prince Selman Social Center where started the first phase of enrollment of voters in Riyadh city. He expressed his proudly of the whole elections process and his gratitude for being selected as one of the electoral committee members:
"It is good tidings that process which started on the tenth of Shawwal and will continue in sha Allah for other experiences to come. I would like to appreciate the media campaign which was criticized by some people. I think it was very good at all levels. Most of the people came to register due to the announcements of the media. People all around the world do not consider closely the new things from the first time especially those who need enlightenment and mechanism.
This center where the process started with a party it will finish here also with a party in sha Allah. We faced no problems at all and every one was doing his job in a professional way and sincerity."
Mr. Sinan Abdullah Al Hussainy, data processor: "The technology we are applying is the same as we see abroad. We faced no problems with the equipments as they are of an excellent standard. My collogues the computers are professionals. The whole process is a rich experience and paves the way for future phases.

Chairman of Center No, 39: The first process shortened the distances

Dr.Abdul Musen Abdul Rahman Al Hareesh, Farazdaq Primary school at Suleimania district of the Forth Electoral District, met our website and said:

"During this final week we witness higher numbers of enrolment than those of the first week. Indications how that the coming days will witness even bigger figures a matter that reflects the sense of citizenship. What ever the attendance, the experience is totally new for the Saudi citizen and it should not be evaluated according to the scientific concept of elections. I am sure this experience has a good impact on the next step which I think will be so accurate. Everything can be managed in a short period of time except the concepts which need accumulation of experiences."

Mr Ali Al Rabea, word processor, said: "The work is a success no doubt on that, as nationally, humanly and professionally also. I have gained a new experience and I face no problems with the computer and the implementation. All are doing their jobs as perfectly."

We also met Mr. Nassir Zaid Al Melhy who said:
I- as a Saudi citizen evaluate my responsibility towards my country. I consider this democratic step a sort of categorization to the citizen as for his visions and culture. I hope for all the citizens to participate in the enrolment process.
