Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, yesterday highlighted the Kingdom’s security and stability and urged businessmen to exert greater efforts to boost the country’s progress and prosperity.
“All people in the Kingdom including officials and businessmen work for the goodness of the country,” the crown prince said while distributing Prince Salman Prize to outstanding young businessmen and businesswomen.
“I am very happy to be with you today to celebrate the achievements of the Kingdom’s young businessmen and businesswomen and their supporters,” Prince Salman said, stressing the importance of cooperation among the different groups of society.
Noura bint Bandar Al-Muqaiteb and Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Shahri won the first and second prizes in the service sector while Abdul Wahab bin Faiz Al-Ahmary and Salim bin Nasser Al-Khaledi received top prizes in the industry sector.
In the technology sector, the winners were Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Zamil and Hassan Muhammad Al-Shahri while in the trade sector Turki bin Abdullah Al-Yahya won the top prize. In the business leaders sector, the winners were Khaled bin Salman Al-Ghathbar and Muhammad bin Ghanim Al-Anazi.
Among the businesswomen Ala bint Abdul Rahman Hariri and Huda bint Ghalib Al-Mutairy received top prizes. Fahd Al-Thunayan and Saleh Al-Turki received the prize for outstanding businessmen who supported their young counterparts.
Prince Salman also honored the prize’s partners and supporters. Earlier welcoming the guests, Badr Al-Asakir, secretary-general of the prize, said from next year onward winners would be selected from outstanding young businessmen and businesswomen in the GCC states.
Prince Muhammad bin Salman, special adviser to the crown prince and chairman of Prince Salman Youth Center, thanked Prince Salman for patronizing the ceremony.
In a statement after the event, he said Prince Salman’s distribution of the prizes reflects his support to the youth community in the Kingdom as he considers them as the hope and future of the nation.
Prince Muhammad said the Saudi youth have a great responsibility to make use of their energy and expertise to push the Kingdom’s progress and prosperity.
He noted Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s support for the youth by providing them with education and training and meeting their welfare requirements.
Prince Muhammad highlighted the prize’s role in encouraging young businessmen and businesswomen to implement innovative projects to accelerate the Kingdom’s growth.
“The Prince Salman Youth Center works for creating a suitable atmosphere for developing the capabilities of youth and helping them participate strongly in the country’s development process,” he said.
“As a working team of the prize we pin great hope it would achieve its objectives set by Prince Salman, chairman of the prize’s board of trustees, by helping the youth to unleash their skills and capability for the development of their nation,” he said.
