Minister abolishes decision centralization... and authorizes officials and mayors with his powers
The Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs in charge, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qassabi, has authorized the regional and governorate mayors and officials of the ministry to exercise his powers within the limits of regulations and instructions and within the scope of their administrative supervision for each of them, as well as H.E. has authorized heads of municipal councils to exercise their powers according to municipal councils code and its executive legislations.
The decision aims to decentralize decision-making, giving confidence to regions and governorates mayors and ministry officials, and giving them more powers to perform their duties efficiently and at an accelerated pace to achieve a distinctive service for all beneficiaries of municipal services.
In the same context, the decision seeks to address the challenges facing the municipal sector, achieve sustainable institutional performance, provide a local urban environment with healthy living, and sustainable and balanced development, improve the quality of life in various cities and villages of the Kingdom, enhance its human aspect, develop land plots and property management, and improve implementation efficiency of projects and programs, in addition to continuous improvement in the coverage of cities with public facilities and high quality infrastructure.
