Riyadh Municipal Council discusses the Municipality plan to face torrents water drainage
Municipal Council of Riyadh City held this past Sunday its first session under the chairmanship of the Mayor of Riyadh region, President of the Municipal Council Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al Moqbel at the headquarters of the Council in Malaz.
Council reviewed a number of topics on the agenda, highlighted from them reviewing a report on Al Sulai Valley project presented by Eng. Emad Al Bashr, Assistant Undersecretary for Projects and Director General of Implementation and Control, the report reviewed project designs that have been accomplished and the work carried out and work which is being currently running to open and refine the stream of the valley, which extends from north of Riyadh city to the south along 130 km.
Then the council briefed on the Municipality plan on how to face and drainage of torrents water in the city of Riyadh for the year 1436 AH, presented by the Director General of Studies and Designs in Riyadh Municipality Eng. Khalaf Al Dalbahi, who explained that torrents water and reducing groundwater drainage networks, which currently existing in the city of Riyadh is covering 26% of the total area of the city, and projects which are currently being implemented are at the rate of 22%.
Indicating that future projects that will be implemented during the next three years are at the rate of 24%, and credence funds are required to provide to complete covering the entire city by torrents and rain water drainage network.
Eng. Al Dalbahi then reviewed a number of critical sites in the previous seasons and procedures undertaken by the Municipality to create solutions, and in the end of the meeting members of Riyadh Municipal Council expressed their thanks and appreciation to Riyadh Region Municipality on the efforts for the promoting the services in Riyadh.
