Riyadh Municipality Detects 12,918 Violating Rental Units During 1,187 Inspection Rounds

Riyadh Municipality continues its wide-ranging campaign to address violations related to the subdivision of residential properties into multiple rental units without obtaining the required permits. The campaign covers apartment buildings, villas, and rooftop annexes within city neighborhoods.
Field inspections have so far identified 26,345 units, of which 12,918 were found to be in violation. Work is currently underway to rectify the status of 13,883 residential units.
The field teams have carried out 1,187 inspection rounds across different stages of the campaign, issuing 1,327 violation notices.
The Municipality affirmed that the campaign is progressing according to a comprehensive plan that includes monitoring, corrective action, and the application of regulatory penalties, in addition to reinforcing compliance with urban planning requirements that ensure the safety of facilities and the quality of services.
The campaign aims to enhance infrastructure efficiency within neighborhoods and address urban challenges caused by violations, thereby positively impacting the quality of life for the residents of the capital.
These efforts reflect Riyadh Municipality’s commitment to achieving sustainable urban development and improving the efficiency of municipal services, contributing to the enhancement of quality of life in the capital, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
