Riyadh Municipality has released the second issue of its periodic magazine “Al-Asimah” (The Capital), which highlights the city’s achievements and its accelerated journey of urban development, reinforcing Riyadh’s status as a modern, vibrant capital looking toward the future.

The second issue sheds light on the city’s major projects and distinctive initiatives, in addition to showcasing the Municipality’s efforts to enhance quality of life and achieve sustainable development in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The issue opens with a foreword by His Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region, who emphasized that the capital is undergoing a major transformative phase in which one year in its life equals years in the history of other cities. He pointed out that landmark projects such as the operation of the Riyadh Metro, the launch of major flood drainage projects, and the expansion of public parks reflect the city’s growing regional and international presence.

Among the key features of this issue is a comprehensive report titled “Municipality Achievements During 2024”, which reviewed a wide range of development projects in infrastructure, parks, roads, and urban humanization programs, alongside efforts to enhance the efficiency of municipal services and initiatives to strengthen compliance and monitoring culminating in the Municipality’s attainment of ten international ISO certifications. The issue also spotlighted the “Riyadh Memory” initiative, which aims to document the city’s historical heritage and connect it with its future vision.

The magazine further covered various aspects of municipal work and community-driven initiatives such as the “Ozwat Riyadh” campaign and volunteering programs, reaffirming the community’s role as a key partner in enhancing the urban landscape and shaping a vibrant city. It also dedicated space to field reports and news from the capital, including coverage of prominent development projects and Riyadh’s hosting of major international events and conferences.

“Al-Asimah” reflects the Municipality’s commitment to strengthening institutional communication channels and building a credible media platform that documents the capital’s major transformations. It provides rich content that meets readers’ aspirations and offers a comprehensive view of Riyadh’s achievements and its vital role in realizing national development goals.
