The partnership aims to enhance the quality of services provided in cemeteries and to establish an institutional framework that organizes charitable work, with the goal of developing burial services in the capital and empowering the nonprofit sector to participate in managing and organizing cemetery operations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The partnership seeks to coordinate efforts between both parties in several areas, including supporting the operation of washing facilities, encouraging charitable organizations to participate in service delivery, organizing transport and burial processes, activating volunteer initiatives, and improving service efficiency in cemeteries through sustainable operational standards.
Under this agreement, the Riyadh Municipality is responsible for preparing and enabling associations to provide services, identifying approved washing facilities, and distributing funeral services among them. Meanwhile, the Al-Ikram Foundation will prepare training programs for volunteers, submit periodic reports, and activate the Jood platform to support the nonprofit sector.
This partnership is an extension of the Riyadh Municipality’s ongoing efforts to improve beneficiary experiences and strengthen community participation within the municipal service system, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to empower the nonprofit sector and enhance quality of life in the capital.
