Human Rights
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia highlights its efforts to protect and promote human rights through comprehensive laws and regulations, including safeguarding the rights of women, children, individuals with disabilities, and expatriate workers. The Kingdom emphasizes the principles of equality and non-discrimination, ensuring gender equality in employment, education, healthcare, and access to grants and services.
Since the unification of the Kingdom by King Abdulaziz Al Saud (may Allah have mercy on him), the state has committed to protecting the rights of both citizens and residents. The Basic Law of Governance affirms principles of justice, equality, and consultation. Article 8 stipulates that governance in the Kingdom is based on these principles in accordance with Islamic law, while Article 26 mandates the state to protect human rights in line with Sharia.
Other systems, including those related to education, health, labor, and social insurance, contain detailed provisions to uphold these principles.
