City Street Rehabilitation Initiative with Residents’ Participation

As part of efforts to enhance community participation and improve the urban environment, the Riyadh Municipality launched an initiative to engage residents in selecting the engineering designs for several of its projects.

Within this framework, the Al-Dawadmi Municipality launched the “City Street Rehabilitation Initiative – Old Market” under the slogan “Developing It with Our Own Hands.”
The initiative aims to develop the city’s vital streets with the active participation of residents and relevant stakeholders. This step comes as part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community involvement in the development and improvement of public facilities.

 

Initiative Activities

1. Informational Booth
Setting up a field booth at the project site to explain the importance and goals of the initiative, while highlighting residents’ role in improving the urban environment.

2. Displaying Design Alternatives
Presenting several proposed design options (landscaping, lighting, sidewalks, etc.) to allow visitors to vote for the most suitable one.

3. Informational Brochures
Distributing brochures containing project information and a digital QR code link for residents to share their opinions or volunteer to participate in implementation.

4. Hospitality Corner
Providing a hospitality area for residents and visitors that includes beverages and light snacks to encourage engagement and participation.

5. Volunteering Opportunities
Offering volunteer opportunities for residents to actively participate in rehabilitation work, promote the project, and distribute informational materials.
