Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA) intends to adopt "Hather" application to ensure population safety during rainy season, in preparation for its implementation at level of all regions during this year 2017.
Ministry cleared that this step comes within framework of Ministry's efforts to benefit from successful municipalities' experiences. “Hather” application is one of instant solutions to reduce risks and dangers of floods and rainwater catchments, confirming its intention to spread experience at all levels of municipalities during this year 2017.
Ministry pointed out that municipal information center in ministry will work in cooperation with General Directorate of Information Technology and E-Services in Riyadh Municipality to use this application on all regions, and to make sure that all municipalities are standing by before rainy seasons. All of this is through workshop introducing “Hather” application which is developed by Riyadh Municipality, where it is held in Ministry in Ma’ather district in presence of representatives of all municipalities.
It is noteworthy that “Hather” system is an electronic application that works on smart phones and provides warning services to city's residents on critical points and rainwater and torrents locations, as well as allowing users to send reports about rainwater assembly and floods locations in roads and streets of the city.
