MOMRA updates regulations of foodstuffs and public health establishments

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs has announced the completion of revising and updating municipal regulations for foodstuffs and public health establishments, which included (22) lists and (8) guides, in order to facilitate processing for beneficiaries and investors to minimize and facilitate the requirements and conditions of government and service agencies to the minimum, the matter which supports the providing services and maximizes the benefit to beneficiaries of citizens and residents in all regions and cities of the Kingdom.

The ministry explained that regulations of similar activities were merged into one list, and adding regulations of new activities to these regulations - which were not existed in the current regulations - ,as well as excluding regulations that were transferred to other authorities,  indicating to changing the activity name of (Foodstuff Laboratories) to (Preparation and Processing Shops) in coordination with the General Authority for Food and Drug. The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs revealed the issuance of a number of guides, such as the guide "Consumer guide in dealing with central markets, restaurants and their like" (vegetables, fruits and animal products), "Health requirements guide for fat and frying oil" Health Control Record ", the" Health Control KPI guide ", and the" Food Poisoning Sanctions Control guide ".

The decree was issued by the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs to cancel all previous ministerial decrees and giving a two-year period to the existing institutions to settle their situation, in order to ensure the safety of facilities provided by these institutions to beneficiaries.
