Riyadh Municipality has culminated its continuous efforts in information technology by obtaining 3 Gulf, Arab and Middle Eastern awards ,which represented in (.GOV) Award "For the Best Initiatives in Customer Service" , “Smart Government Excellence Award” organized by the Excellence Awards Academy in the Arab region, and "Middle East Excellence Award for Cities and Municipalities”.
Engr. Awad Al-Otaibi ,Director General of Information Technology and E-Services in Riyadh Municipality ,cleared that based on keenness of His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Sultan, Mayor of Riyadh Region on development of Municipality’s services and promoting its quality to keep up with developments in the field of information Technology, Riyadh Municipality has adopted its strategic e-transformation plan, through scientific methodologies and integrated strategic objectives, to achieve its vision and mission to serve the nation and citizens.
Engr. Awad added that the plan draft prepared by General Administration of IT and E-Services aims to develop policies and frameworks of services governance and making procedures much easier inside municipalities, as well as launching a package of e-services through number of channels such as: e-services portal ,self-service devices and mobile applications, in order to enhance the level of services provided to beneficiaries (individuals, business sector and government sector), the matter which coincides with the great growth of Riyadh city in economic and social levels.
Engr. Awad Al-Otaibi cleared that Riyadh Municipality has started implementing its plan through the development of its infrastructure and e-services, as well as smartphones applications, in addition to coordination and cooperation with a number of government and business entities, pointing out that these awards assures the volume of hard efforts of all officials in Riyadh Municipality to serve the nation and citizens, in order to improve the quality of services and the level of development ,in accordance with the best international standards in the field of information technology.
