2025-01-24His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region, visited the King Abdullah Gardens Project (KAGA) in Riyadh, which spans over two million square meters. During the visit, His Highness reviewed the substantial progress made in what is considered one of the most significant projects in Riyadh and the Kingdom as a whole.
The project represents one of the largest botanical gardens in the world, designed to recreate plant life as it existed in ancient times, corresponding to different geological periods and native environments.
During his tour, the Mayor of Riyadh inspected the botanical museum and reviewed the development of the outdoor gardens distributed across the project. These include eight unique gardens: the Maze Garden, Natural Garden, Butterfly Garden, Discovery Garden, Bird Garden, Sound and Light Garden, Valley Garden, and Water Garden.
His Highness also visited the “Crescent Buildings,” the iconic centerpiece of the KAGA project, which houses seven historic botanical gardens inspired by different geological eras. These include: the Carboniferous, Lycopodiophyta, Polysperms, Devonian, Modern Era, Jurassic, and Cretaceous Gardens.
During the visit, Prince Faisal chaired the Riyadh Municipality's Steering Committee meeting, as well as the Steering Committee meeting for the King Abdullah Gardens Project. He discussed the latest project updates and future development plans.
