Riyadh Municipality is carrying out development and rehabilitation projects for local and collector streets and roads as part of the first phase of a comprehensive plan aimed at strengthening infrastructure and improving the efficiency of the road network within the capital. This initiative responds to the needs of emerging neighborhoods and supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in enhancing quality of life and promoting urban development.

The current efforts include 14 projects distributed across different geographic areas of the city. In southern Riyadh, projects cover neighborhoods such as Areed, Dhahiyat Namar, Dhahret Namar, and Al-Masani, in addition to industrial zones and vital sites representing the rapid urban expansion south of the capital.
In western Riyadh, extensive projects are underway in neighborhoods such as Tuwaiq, Irqah, and Dhahiyat Namar, along with strategic locations in the northwest where residential areas are steadily growing.
Meanwhile, in the east of the capital, projects are underway in neighborhoods including Al-Bayan, Al-Yarmouk, Al-Janadriyah, and Al-Rimal. This reflects the municipality’s focus on strengthening infrastructure in areas experiencing rapid population growth and increasing demand for essential services.

Through these projects, the municipality is prioritizing road safety by creating key entrances to new neighborhoods, addressing unpaved roads, improving the quality of the street network, and facilitating mobility while reducing water accumulation and dust. These efforts contribute to a healthier and more sustainable urban environment.

These initiatives embody Riyadh Municipality’s commitment to its strategic goals by developing infrastructure, enhancing the efficiency of the road network, empowering local communities, and activating partnerships with both the public and private sectors. Ultimately, this reinforces the capital’s position as a thriving and sustainable city that elevates quality of life in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
