As part of its efforts and commitment for improving the urban landscape, Riyadh Region Municipality is intensifying its extensive campaign to control violations of subdivision of residential units in buildings and villas, which exceed the number of approved units with building permits. 
The campaign comes after an increase in violations which reached villas and upper annexes within neighborhoods, which were converted into multiple rental units without proper permits or compliance with building requirements. This has caused a clear urban defect and a burden on the infrastructure and public services.
The campaign included 134 inspections across 15 sub-municipalities. 
Field teams issued violation notices at all sites visited, indicating the magnitude and scope of the violations.
The Municipality emphasizes the continuation of the campaign as part of a comprehensive plan that includes monitoring, addressing, and imposing penalties and fines on violators. 
It emphasizes that its goal is not only to enforce the law, but also to ensure a better quality of life for the residents of Riyadh city. 
These efforts are part of the Riyadh Region Municipality's commitment to achieve sustainable urban development and improve service efficiency which enhances the quality of life and align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
