Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh, the Riyadh Municipality signed a memorandum of cooperation with the General Authority for Roads, aiming to enhance road quality and promote economic development in the capital. The agreement was signed by Eng. Waleed bin Abdulrahman Al-Okrosh, Assistant Mayor for Projects at Riyadh Municipality, and Eng. Tareq bin Ziyad Al-Shami, Assistant Minister of Transport and Logistic Services for Road Maintenance and Operations, in the presence of officials from both sides.

The memorandum seeks to achieve mutual goals between the two entities, most notably the activation and application of the Saudi Road Code specifications in all current and future projects within Riyadh. The agreement emphasizes improving road design, implementation, and maintenance, as well as offering training workshops for municipal staff to enhance their efficiency in applying modern standards. A joint task force will also be formed to oversee the implementation of the agreement and address any challenges that may arise.

The signing, attended by the Acting CEO of the General Authority for Roads, Eng. Badr bin Abdullah Al-Dalami, is part of Riyadh Municipality’s broader strategy to enhance the city’s visual environment and improve the quality of life for its residents. It also reflects the Municipality’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that support sustainable development and align with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030 in advancing infrastructure and strengthening Riyadh’s position as one of the world’s leading cities.
