This initiative is part of projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life within the city’s neighborhoods and improving the efficiency of urban infrastructure to meet the needs of residents in “Human-Centered Riyadh.”

The project includes humanizing central areas in the following neighborhoods:

  • Al-Rawdah, with a length of 4.4 km and an area of 121,000 m².

This project represents a qualitative step within a package of developmental initiatives focused on transforming urban voids into vibrant spaces, strengthening recreational, social, and economic activities within neighborhoods, and promoting urban sustainability by improving the efficiency of public space use and linking them with key destinations and essential services.

The project reflects the municipality’s approach to improving the urban environment by enhancing public facilities, increasing their functional and visual appeal, and providing integrated environments that support modern lifestyles for both residents and visitors. It seeks to achieve a balance between urban development and community needs, in line with goals of sustainability and innovation in urban planning.

The Riyadh Municipality emphasized that the implemented projects will add value to the community by creating safe routes for walking and cycling, integrating open spaces with cultural and recreational activities, enriching residents’ experiences, and encouraging social interaction. They also contribute to reducing environmental impact and improving air quality within neighborhoods through strengthened green infrastructure.

The municipality aims to achieve balanced and sustainable urban development that enhances the capital’s attractiveness for investment and living, elevates quality of life, and builds more sustainable environments and fully serviced urban neighborhoods ultimately helping to make Riyadh a vibrant city.
