The Riyadh Municipality concluded today the activities of the “Ezwah” Community Participation Forum and Award, held under the patronage of His Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh. The event witnessed significant attendance from leaders, experts, and practitioners in developmental and community work, alongside broad participation from individuals as well as public, private, and non-profit entities reflecting a true spirit of partnership and collaboration in serving the community.
The second day of the forum included panel discussions and workshops highlighting leading practices and experiences aimed at enhancing the impact of community initiatives. The first session, titled “Community Participation and How to Create Its Impact,” discussed mechanisms to activate participation and maximize its developmental effect, featuring experts such as Ali Al-Ghaith, Dr. Youssef Al-Hajri, Dr. Youssef Saadah, and Yassin Abdo.
Engineer Mamdouh Tashkandi presented an inspiring community experience through the “House of Culture Model,” while another session, “Digital Participation through National and Municipal Platforms,” explored modern experiences in digital transformation to strengthen community engagement, featuring Dr. Ayman Al-Arabiat, Eng. Sami Al-Husain, and Bassam Al-Shaeq.
The forum also showcased the experience of “Jisr Association” in volunteer work and honored the participating entities in the accompanying exhibition, which included over 10 developmental organizations that contributed to exchanging experiences and enriching dialogue about the future of community participation in the capital.
The forum achieved remarkable interactive indicators: over 1,000 registered participants, more than 750 visitors, 29 cooperation and partnership agreements signed, and 26 speakers engaged. The live broadcast exceeded 12,000 views, while social-media platforms recorded more than 395,000 impressions. The event also honored 17 winners in the first edition of the “Ezwah Community Participation Award,” with over 120 male and female trainees attending the interactive workshops.
Through this forum and award, the Riyadh Municipality aims to strengthen the community’s developmental role in enhancing neighborhood quality of life, empowering creative initiatives and ideas, and supporting partnerships that contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in local community development.
