Riyadh Municipality has partially opened the project of an underpass and a loop bridge on Dairab Road at its intersection with Nafud Road. The project also includes the development of the northern section of Nafud Road and the improvement of the entrance intersection to King Salman Air Base to enable free-flow access part of ongoing efforts to enhance traffic movement and improve safety at one of the key gateways in the southwest of the city.

The project includes the construction of an 895-meter two-way underpass on Dairab Road and an 865-meter loop bridge with two lanes leading toward Nafud Road, in addition to rehabilitating the main Dairab Road to four lanes in each direction.

The Municipality also redeveloped 7.5 km of Nafud Road, providing three lanes in each direction, along with the construction of service roads and access points serving adjacent neighborhoods, all in accordance with approved safety standards.

The project features upgraded intersections and U-turns, the installation of a modern LED lighting system linked to smart control technologies, as well as landscaping work that includes a modern irrigation system and the planting of over 40,000 trees and shrubs, in addition to designing the underpass walls with GRC panels inspired by the local landscape.

These development works align with Riyadh Municipality’s broader vision to strengthen urban development, enhance infrastructure quality, and support quality of life in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
